i have a o4 fuel injection soft tail it died in garage while running tryed to start back up fuel pump comes on and stops turn engien over gas comes out of back cylender take a ecm off of a 06 soft tail fuel ijection system plug it in 04 starts up runs like a champ but gives me code of p261 p262 but still runs like a champ is my ecm bad or did somthing eles make my ecm go bad please help me. anyone

 

Have you had any work done on your ECM? Do you think you may have damaged it in any way, like dropped it for example? It seems like you suspect the ECM is faulty and I am wondering if their might be more info you could provide that lead you to beleive that.

I have read ECM's can go bad if your trying to flash update them and power is interupted.

 

the bike was wrecked a while back ago i dont know if that had somthing to do with it or not it is a stock ecm i have never done any thing to it the ecm off of the 06 makes it run like a champ
