Default 1995 softail with 45k miles. Buy or not?

I recently sod my 95 wide glide with 10k miles, and picked up a 2004 electra std (set up like street glide). Well the touring bike is not for me, so again I am looking for a bike. A guy wants to trade my his 1995 softail custom with 45,000 miles and cash for my bike. My question is what are your opinions on the milage? Is it too many or will it be ok for awhile. I put around 4,000 miles or more on my bike each year. I am in PA and he says it is a sound motor and has gone to sturgis, and ocean city a few times so that accounts for some of the miles.

45K isn't too bad if it's been properly maintained. I have a few buddies that are creeping 100k on mid 90's bikes.

It's just like a car... non-maintained = die fast!

Maintenece is the key..
