I have a very good eal on a paint set from an 04 FLSTFI, much cheaper than painting my own FXST and I want to replace the rear fender anyway.

question is, how much work (if any) is required to install the tank (fuel injection) with my Caruburated bike ? would I need a mechanic to do it for me ?

There is a reason there are two different tanks. One fits the carb bikes the FI one does not. Sounds like a bunch of fabrication work thus causing you to lose the "very good eal". What about replacing the fenders with the tins from this set and having just your tank painted? Then you can sell the other parts on EBay and probably come out ahead.

Well, the painting is around 500$ for the tank, while the set comes complete for 500$ !! and I can still sell my tank and old fender, so it is a great deal.

but I will keep looking for the right one..
