Default powdercoat exhaust issues

Looking to get my vance and hines big radius exhaust powdercoated wrinkle black. Has anyone done this recently because I am wondering if the pc on the heat shields can withstand the temp of the bike. I am also curious of the temp of the heatshields, my powdercoater says at the 250 temp range the pc softens.

Have your Powder Coater look into this: http://www2.dupont.com/Powder/en_US/...mperature.html

I would not powder coat anything that will be on or very near the exhaust. I have done it before and it will wrinkle up and start flaking.
Get it Ceramic coated from somewhere like Jet-Hot coating, its made for very high temp parts.

I powder coated the heat shields on my Night Train about a year ago, and they are still flawless. The bike's seen about 10k miles since doing it. I also coated the SE II slip-ons, and they also are holding up incredibly well. An expert told me (I coat at home) that as long as chrome doesn't "blue", then standard powder will hold up. So far, he's completely correct!
