Default Power Commander & O2 Sensors question

Was curious how it works with the Power Commander III (not the EX) and the O2 sensors on the Softails 07 and later? I have a 06 without the sensors and am looking at buying an 08 or 09. I have a PCIII on mine, and love it, and def want to get a PCIII for my new bike.

Just have no idea how that affects the O2 sensors, what to do with the sensors as well.

Will also change the standard exhaust to V&H true duals with silent baffels. I know the V&H true duals come with the mounts for the factory O2 sensors, do I need to reinstall the O2 sensors?

LOL I guess you can see I have a ton of questions

Thanks for any info anyone has

My '07 Night Train has a PCIII USB, I used the o2 eliminators provided with the PCIII.

I couldn't begin to tell you how they work from a tech standpoint. But in the real world they work! Over 7k miles without a glitch or having to reprogram the PCIII.

I left the o2 sensors in the pipes (V&H Big Shot Staggered). Thinking that if there was ever a problem with the PC, I could unplug it, and plug the o2s back in, and get home if I had to. You could use plugs. I know they are avalable, not sure where.

my $0.02

Don't even think of removing the O2 sensors unless you get your pipes really hot from running first. You WILL have a cold weld situation which will take out the threads in the pipe bung.

Just talking from experience...

go with a thundermax with autotune and you wont need to pay for a dynotune. It will cost you about the same and your bike will tune as you drive and retune when needed.

I reintalled the o2 sensors in my BSS pipes and used anti seize on the threads. I never plan to remove them so hopefully it will not be an issue.

I did the same thing with the same pipes. I guess in my first reply I should have said I swapped the o2 sensors over from the stock pipes the the V&H pipes. A big +1 on the anit seize compund too. I've learned that lesson the hard way.
