Default Floorboard Woes

Well, need your opinions. Bought a replacement set of aftermarket OEM boards from JP's in Feb. Finally got around to installing them this past July. Now it seems the same EXACT thing is happening with this set as the originals. The rubber isolators are pulling through the boards and are now tearing apart. I have pushed these back through countless times already but now are tearing where they are useless. If I had the cash I'd have forward controls on it, but are stuck with these for now...so, my question is, do I either drill them out and use long button head bolts with fender washers on them, OR, do I just cut them off and silicone them down for now?
Thanks for any input guys!

Why not just leave the rubber grommets on and goo them down?
