Default More upright & taller backrest for wife

My wife is small 5' 100lbs. I just bought an '02 Heritage for her to ride on with me. She does not like the stock backrest. She says she leans back too far and the pad is too low on her back. Any advice for the New-to-Harley guy would be great.

Thanks!

What a fantastic response! I hope this is not reflective of future responses.

I just need to be directed where to look. The Harley accessories catalog was of no help.

There are plenty of aftermarket catalogues that you can look through. You can also look through members rides on here under the pics section to give you some ideas. If you see one you like, send a message to the person and inquire where they got it.

Strick, You'll find this group very helpful if you can supply good info and specific questions. A good start would be a photo of your current set up. Off hand, I'd say get a higher sissy bar and purchase either a thicker backrest or take yours to a custom seat shop and have them add padding to increase it's thickness. You might just start with a higher sissy bar and see if that resolves the situation. Having room is good IMO. She might get used to having the space.

don't think I would have responded quite like that... kinda opens you up to a bunch of comebacks........

ptl203 is right on. BTW: most, if not all of the aftermarket cataloges can be viewed on-line.
