Default 04 Fatboy wheels on a 07 Deluxe

I've been going through a rough time with this wheel change. Now I'm being told that 04 Fatboy wheels will not work on a 07 Deluxe because the rear brake rotor and belt pulley won't match up.

Anyone done this? I can't believe I'm the first to try it.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, but I do know that 2000-2006 fatboy wheels are pretty much all the same. I would find hard to believe that no one else has an answer to this.

i don't believe it'll work. '07 have a 200 rear while the '04's had a 150. i'm sure you could make it work, but i don't know if it wouled be worth all the trouble.

Hi grimm, I see your point, but I'm putting this onto a 07 Deluxe. I think the width is the same as the 04 Fatboy?

If I recall. the hubset is not any different from 2000 (and maybe something) till 2007. Not sure about 2008's.. but I believe the axle size is different isn't it? Not sure about that either but you may have to change out the bearings.

The axle is a 25mm on an 07 come to think of it. On 2000-2006 it is a 3/4".

Thank you for the page number in the picture thread. That is exactly what I am looking for. That was posted in June of 06 so I assume it was an 05 or 06 Deluxe.

You are correct that I will have to change the hubs. I was not too worried about that part. But, I went into a panic when one of the techs at the dealership said that the rotor and/or belt pulley will not work. I already bought the wheels off ebay so I really want to make this work. I was planning on having them powder coated black.

I see mag wheels in the harley catalog that say they will work on fatboys and deluxes from 2000 on up, so I just dont see the problems.

I just wish I could hear from someone who has actually done it. Surely someone has put 00 to 06 Fatboy wheels on a 07 Deluxe.
