Default Sat on a couple of Bigdog bikes today

My best friend from high school owns a shop and is a dealer for Bigdog and Victory bikes. He sells a lot of HD accessories as well, but was one of the earliest Bigdog dealers and sits in on the board as a dealer rep for the company. I was visiting him today; we just recently got in touch with each other again, and were catching up on old times. I sat on a couple of bikes, a K9 and a Mastiff I think, and one that looked like the K9 but was a softail. I was a little shocked by the perceived weight.......he said they went about 680 lbs. (I think that's what he told me, I could be wrong) but they felt significantly lighter than my softail. They felt more balanced as well. I haven't ridden one, but that was just my impression from sitting on them on the showroom floor. I'm not selling my softail, but I'd be interested in riding one.

Greetings,

The local Big Dog Stealer let me ride a K9 as I was considering one of those at the time I was in the market for my Rocker C. They do ride nice, but with all the recalls and issues they've had (along with a lot of issues this particular dealership has) I shyed away and stuck with the Rocker C. Do your research before buying one!

I have a friend that worked as a wrench for a Big Dog dealer. He was less than impressed with them, particually their electricals.

I have a buddy that has one and that thing is in the shop more than in his garage. He regrets the purchase and wishes he would have bough a Harley. $30,000 lesson learned.

Big dogs IMO are expensive kit bikes...I was never that impressed with the quality of the bikes or their price tags.

I've heard there have been some recalls as well. A friend sold a pit bull and just bought a new mastiff from my dealer friend. His pit bull was only 2 or 3 years old and he only managed to get $12k for it and it took quite awhile to sell. They are making big discounts but the bikes are still pricey. They seem to use good parts though......S&S motors, PM brakes.....nice paint jobs as well. Big loss when resale time comes though.
