I know I should know this by now. But can;t find any references in my service manual.

What's that mini connector (2 wire) with plastic tie wrap screw which snaps into the air cleaner backplate? It doesn;t look like it has any function unless you plug something (male) into it...

 

It's a connector that's used on the European models. It comes on the states bikes but is just hanging on the bracket and doesn't do anything but confuse us.

 

I wondered the same thing....

 

I thought it was an AMBIENT TEMP SENSOR, i could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time,I'll look in my service manual, but may fall into the elctrical manual..gotta love H-D $60.00 for each book..

 

I thought it was there so harley could sell you something to attach to it.

 

It's the connector for the sophisticated active air intake and exhaust technology system used on the overseas models; it's in the online 07 Softail manual posted on this site.
