Default Front brake lighting switch

This lighting switching is pissing me off. My brake lever need to set at its full forward position to make the brake light work. I replace the switch twice and the copper clip is install. Can the brake piston that push the lever be adjusted. I tried to put a spacer washer at one time, work for 1/2 miles and brake lock up. What a stupid idea. What next? Thanks for your help.

New switch twice or reinstalled the old one twice? Sounds like the end of the switch is missing. The rounded head thing that most people break off when working on the throttle section. That's the only reason your handle needs to be that far forward to turn brake light off.

Stock round pin broke, brake light not working, replace with new one and still not working. Seem like the brake piston is not pushing the brake lever forward, so I put a shim or washer spacer between the piston and lever. The light work. Then riding a short distance, the brake heated up and front wheel lock up, I will never do that again. I replace with a new switch, back to square one, light not working.
