Default Cigarette Lighter Installs anybody done one?

Been thinkin all summer about a lighter. I would be interested in seeing what others have done. Bar mount or what ever.

I would be interested in details because I have no idea what I am doing with wires in most cases. But I have been told this is easy.

Looking for a clean clean clean install on my Heritage.

Pics and install details,,, where you bought your parts ect... would be extremely valuable to me. I may do this project rather quickly?

Thanks!

I quit smoking a while ago but I do have one for GPS, made by Kuryakyn, around $50.

I have a cigarette lighter that I store into my saddlebag. It's not waterproof: it costs me about $15 to make it. I use it to recharge my cell phone. If you want more pictures of the connections on the battery, let me know and I will take off the seat.

I drilled a hole in the left side of the console just in front of the odometer reset pushbutton. The lighter came from JC Whitney. Wired into the hot lead at the ignition switch, and it grounds through the socket IIRC. Take care measuring for the hole so the the lighter doesn't interfere with the speedo. I removed the speedo before drilling just to be safe. I don't have a picture but if necessary I can snap a pic.

Powerlet has some good options. I did the bulkhead SAE connector on my ST1300A. it is hot all the time. Phone charges while you ride, or while you camp.

With the bulkhead connectors you can make them water proof.
