Default Cross Bones New Paint Job

Everyone,

I got some photos taken today of my new paint job on my 08 Cross Bones. It is the Grind Custom Series-Alpha found on page 213 of the 09 HD Catalog. I was a bit nervous about spending so much money on a single photo, but the paint job has exceeded my expectations.

I think the paint job fits the X-Bones perfectly. It is simple, old school, and extremely cool. The black is satin, but the clear coat is matte black. I am obviously bias and beyond excited my wife said I could get it. lol. If you are thinking of getting the paint job DON'T! You are going to hate it. However, you can feel free to come over and look at mine anytime you want.

Here is the link to the photos. I am not smart enough (or too lazy) to get the uploaded here.

They charged me 3 hours labor to install the set. In my mind it was worth it to save the headaches. Sure, the front fender takes all of 2 minutes, but the rest simply was not worth it IMO.

Holy cow, that's by far the coolest paint set I've ever seen on a Harley! That is one awesome looking bike. Looks perfect on your Cross Bones.

Thanks for the kind words all. I really like the idea of the exposed sheet metal. You can feel it when you rub your hand against it. I also really like the way the grind pattern in the exposed sheet metal reflects against the sun.

Looks great. I would like to see it in person. My 2005 SE Fat Boy came with some bare metal grind areas, with just clear coat over it. I haven't had any problems with it. I did notice that your pattern doesn't go to the tip of your fender, like mine. The tip of your fender is where you are more likely to get small chips which will eventually rust, since there is no paint protection under the clear coat, so you don't have that worry.
