09 Deluxe Pipe recommendations
Hello everyone. I am new to the board and have a question.
I just got an 09 Deluxe and am looking for pipes. Any suggestions?
I had an 06 Street Bob with Bub Jug Huggers and really liked them. How do the Vance and Hines Double Barrels sound. Are they loud enough? Also what about tuners, V&H fuelpak, Power Commender, etc...
Thanks for any info, Keith

you'll get a 1000 answers for this....but depending on what you want to do and how much $$ you want to spend....I like the V&H slip-ons..sound good, not too expensive... I have the HD SE II slip-ons... kind of quiet, but better than stock...hoping to swap out for the V&H someday... good luck...

I put V&H Straightshot slip-ons on my 05 Deluxe. It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want loud, the V&H are quite loud. Even with the quiet baffles they will make car alarms chirp as you ride by. I am personally a believer in the "Loud pipes saves lives" motto. But that is just my opinion.

Congrats on the new Deluxe...Got pics?
I just installed the V&H Double Barrels this weekend....They sound incredible...Deep and rumbly without too much "noise". In my opinion, they are loud enough...they're not quiet but not ear bleeding either. The coolest thing about them is that they look great and have a deep mellow sound...Definitely cleans up that mess of an exhaust the MoCo choose for the Deluxe....BTW...I used a V&H Fuel Pak and S/E AC to go along with the pipes...If you plan on doing major engine mods down the road, the Fuel Pak might not be the way to go but for what I wanted, it works just fine....

Congrats on the new bike. You will love it. I'm running the V & H duals on my deluxe. I had the SE double barrels before. Switched to the true duals for a bit more old school look. They sound great with the quet baffle. If you go slip on look at the Rinehart or even there full exhausts. Nice sounding exhaust. E bay has some good deals on slip ons.
