My softail has sideshots, fuel pack, and the Screamin' Eagle airfilter. Everything seems to work fine to me. I'm sure people will jump in with negative opinions on the fuel pack that I've seen on here before, and I'm not sure what that's about....perhaps they are after something different to me. I get on the bike, start it, twist the throttle and it goes forward just fine

F/P is the way to go. I installed it and it runs like a raped ape, but I also installed V&H pipes and the Big Sucker A/C. A couple of the guys have installed the same setup and they all have not had a problem. As 08FXST says "twist the throttle and go". Good luck on your choice.

Short Shots, Big Sucker, and Fuel Pak on my Train, giddy-up. I think unless you are planning internal mods on the engine, the FP will do the re-map job just fine.

I'm with 'Carmell' on this one. I've been looking at the same question for weeks now and as said "unless you are planning internal mods on the engine, the FP will do the re-map job just fine".
That's my choice, not ordered yet though, got my first service tomorrow. Got V&H Short Shots ready and not choose an air filter yet.
Good luck with your choice.

Honestly, the fuel pack was garbage for me. The bike ran terrible. Get a power commander. You'll be much happier.. that in the future, if you have any plans for engine modifications, you can use the PCIII to get the bike tuned properly by a dyno technician.

The fuel pack is crap. We had a run of them that fits the 200 tire softail and Sportsters. an hour and a half to install it, then removing it and reinstalling it. I do not like add on systems like the fuel pack and PC III. The new models do ot have much room for them. I have seen PCIII's burn the harness or lose their maps.

I have run the fuel pak and the PCIII on my own bikes. Now I just use the HD race tuner.

Greetings,

If you're not going to do any more mods, do the Stage 1 download at the stealer. It runs about $150. If you plan on more engine mods, go with the HD race tuner.
