Default 02 softail bigger rear tire

I have purchased an 02 softail fx, the rear fender has been changed to a chopper style. I am looking to go to bigger rear tire hopefully a 200 with an 18 x 5.5 rim it has a 160 currently and some room in the swing arm. I have heard to change to a 3\4 belt and pulley and it should go. If any has anymore info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

There was a letter in this months american iron from a guy who put a 200 on his 03 deuce. He said he used all the stock components except the axle, rim and tire. He said it only cost him 150.00 not counting the new rim and tire.

How wide is the fender on there now? you need a 8.5 wide fender to run a 200/18/5.5 set up,9" would be preferred for clearance. The stock belt will work with very minimal clearence1/8" depending on spacing. There is some slight variations in the years with clearances.I've seen some fit and others not.Changing the belt gives lots of room.
The duece fender is a wider fender.
