Default Heritage bag straps

Ok, I'm sure this has been posted here before but I can't find a thread.
The bag straps on my Heritage keep flying out of the holder at anything above 40 mph.
What have you guys done to fix that?
I was thinking about trying to find a way to velcro them ......... good idea?
Damn ..... if they were just an inch longer there wouldn't be a problem.
Please give me your ideas and Thanks for the help.

Same problem here. I thought about a little round velcro but thought the glue would probably just melt and make a mess. Atleast in Arizona heat. I still might try velcro. I wonder if we could put a snap on the end of the strap?

Odd. I've never had that problem with my 08 even at 80 plus cruising for hundreds of miles.

Velcro sounds like a good idea but don't see a suitable place to mount it.

There is a company that puts longer straps on for ya. Bossbags.com.. I'll probably be sending mine out to them in the winter to have the stiffeners installed (tops are caving in).

Yeah, that was my first thought ..... those little round velcro thingies with super glue. Everything would be on the inside so it wouldn't show.
Just wondering if anyone else had tried this. Really don't want to pour a bunch of money into this ...... it's aggravating but I can live with it.

There's a guy in the next town over who does leather everything ...... he could probably make me 4 of those straps for next to nothing. If the velcro doesn't work, or ends up looking like ****, I might go see him.

Thanks for the link though ...... much appreciated!

I completely agree! I wouldn't pay that much for that either. I try to make things like that myself if I can. I have an 08 Heritage as well and I never tuck in the straps. It doesn't bother me. My main problem is that I often forget to close the straps !!! Now, that's bad.

Mine were fine until the first time I cleaned/conditioned the bags.....only the right side leading strap flies out, but anything above 70, it's out and flapping...

I used velcro on mine. Works like a champ. I had some velcro strips about an inch long laying around that were already with adhesive on the back like a tape. I just stuck one on each side and viola.... no more straps flying out. I only had one that liked to do it but I velcro'd them all anyway. it works and you cannot see the velcro.
