Default Excessive

Did my 15,000 mile service yesterday. Everything looked and went great. When I pulled the tranny plug I inspected the plug magnet and this is what I saw. Is it excessive? It was all fine stuff except for about 2 tiny sharp splinters. I blew the picture up bif. Keep in mind it's the tranny plug, Thank you for any input.

Not really excessive. I'll bet your next change will have less on it.

I bought it with 5,000 miles. Changed all 3 fluids after 1,000 miles. Changed all 3 according to the manual every 5,000 thereafter.

Wow, looks excessive compared to my tranny plug when I change the oil, but then, I've changed my tranny oil on every 5K service. What oil are you using for the tranny.

Depends on what you are running in the transmission. I run Redline Shockproof heavy and get mostly just fuzz.

More than I got out of mine, but not really bad. Mine was mostly grey crud and a little fuzz.

It's quite a bit more than I'd like to see. Maybe the very first change could have that much, but not now. Normal would be barely a dusting on the magnet with those miles. If there is that much the next change, I'd say something in there is getting eaten up. Not what you want to hear, but that's how I'd feel about it if it was mine.

I'm running the HD transmission and primary chaincase oil in the tranny and primary chaincase. I run Valvoline 20-50 full synthetic in the engine.
