check the part nos for the HD Custom paint sets . if they show same for 07-09 then they are most likely.

thanks for the reply. The part #s are different between the 07's and 08/09's for the tank. Sounds like the 07 is a one year only for some of the parts. There are some paint sets on eBay that I was interested in, but they are for a 08/09. Looking at a new 09 at the local HD joint I cannot see the difference. Mounts all look the same, all connections look the same. So I was just trying to find out what the difference was and was it something that i could get around.

Default 0and 08 fuel tank difference

Hi, I had to replace the fuel tank on my 07 Custom under warranty. HD don't make the 07 tanks anymore so they sent an 08. The mountings are identical but I had to replace the fuel sender in the tank with a new 08 version, cost about $90US for the sender. Other than that, they are a direct replacement

The info I was looking for! Thanks for the reply. That opens up a lot of other possibilities for me. My tank is scratched up from a spill in Nevada a few months ago. I want to play around with painting it but want a nice set in the meantime. Thanks again.......

I know this thread is a hundred years old but I did a search and this is what I came up with. Does anyone know for sure the fuel pump from a 2007 will work in a 2008 tank?
What all needs to be done?

The mounts inside the tank of an 07 are different than 08/newer. Outside they are the same.
