Not the best pic; I was too late getting my camera out from taking a nice long test ride. I love these bars! They still feel like they are pretty high, but I'm getting more used to them quickly. My hands are just a touch higher than my eyes. The only negative is the lever position; it feels like I have to reach down with my fingers a little bit....and I can't change it due to the dimple in the bar for the master cylinder. I'm using some new neck and shoulder muscles as I'm a little tired and sore, but it was windy as hell this afternoon and in this riding position I felt like a sail.
Better pics tomorrow.........
bro, those pics are wild !!!!! it would be better for us to get a really good idea of what they really look like if you get someone to take a pic while you are sitting on that bad boy.
Master cylinder is separate from the switch housings, isn't it?
yes but the lever is attached to the master cylinder...and the switch housings are mated to the clutch bracket and master cylinder so that they will only work in one specific position.
Man that's cool! Was it a big adjustment to steer when you first took it out? I'm considering apes on my Deluxe, but not sure how high I should go.
Not a huge adjustment, but it's different. It almost feels like the steering is much more sensitive. Certainly it's smoother; I guess the length of the bars dampens vibrations. The more I rode it the more comfortable and natural it felt. If you were to ask me tonight if I wished I had bought 16" instead of 18" rise, I'd say yes, but I really feel like if I get some more riding time tomorrow, I'd probably answer the reverse tomorrow night.
I was buffeted more by winds and passing cages....and I'd like a jacket with longer sleeves.
