Default No . . . Not another handlebar question

For those with the Deluxe. How do you like the stock handlebar configuration? I had something similar on my Heritage a few years back. Flanders knuckle bars on set back risers. I have 518's on there now. I sat on a Deluxe at the dealership last week. The bars were a little close but up higher. Pretty comfy actually. Not angled back so close, like wheel barrow handles. Do the ones that Chubby Wild Ones make work/fit as well?

I'm quite comfy with my position. I'm not a big guy (5'10"ish) and one of the main reasons why I got this bike was how it seemed to fit me like a glove. I have this desire to change to mini apes just cause I like the look. I'm on the fence as I wouldn't want to do all the work and then be disappointed.

I liked them so much I switched to 16" apes after less than 1000 miles. The bike was a little cramped for me so I had to do something.

They are comfortable enough but I didn't like the risers. Dropped to the hd fat bar riser and hd short beach bars. Looked better IMO - equal in comfort. On to Wild1 12.5" apes and 1.5" risers which sold me on the whole ape thing. Now have 14" Calini Fly'n apes and Diamond 1 1/2 riserss. They are 2" less in width than the Wild1 and they flow into the bike nicely. Turns out Carlini measures differently so they area about 15". Love the apes... won't turn back.

For a handle bar change?? What is the stealer charging for a change over???? aside from the cable upgrade and handle bar price.?? My friend had his done with apes and braided cables, installation from a private wrench for around 500.

Don't know about the stealer price but the wrench labor price seems high at $500. My indy charges $60 and hour and did the change in a few hours.

Thanks for those replies. Now that you mention it, I have seen more Deluxe models w/apes. Interesting.

I have a question close on this topic, I have an 08 train and want to pull my bars back about 1 - 2 inches, clearly a riser change? The bigger question, how much if any room do I to work with before I am faced with cable issues?
