I am working on a 1997 Heritage over the next few months. Recently noticed in some photos that the rear fenders on the later models has a longer "lip" under the strut, giving the rear a more full look where the fender meets the tire and takes away much of the tire to fender gap.

My questions are: Will a later model rear fender mount to the 1997 frame?? In what model year did HD begin using the "larger" rear fender on the FLST series bikes??
