Question What is the spoke wrench size?

Anyone know the spoke wrench size on HD laced wheels? Trueing my rear wheel ought to be an easy job but I don't want to round a nipple off on accident. Right now my wheels about as straight as a taco shell.

According to Fasst Company's site, it can be 6.0 mm or 6.2 mm for 1980 to current year. http://www.fasstco.com/products/adjwrench/app.shtml

I just put a caliper on my 05 Heritage and they come in at 6.2 mm.

6.2 Millimeters = 0.2440944881889764 Inches

Looks like a quarter inch to me...

1/4" sounds right. My new fat spokes are 3/8", so 1/4" should be pretty close.

this is one of the only times i like to use an adjustable cresent wrench.

the fat jaws get a good bite on the nipple & the fact that it's adjustable lets you get a good, snug fit.

the only downside may be limited swing.

While I'm not all for HD tools, I did buy the spoke wrench....I think it was about $12. it's small size fits nicely in between the spokes.

I was thinking the same thing. Kinda sounds like wanting to tune a guitar and having to ask what note do you tune it to

It is like tuning a guitar. You pluck each spoke and if flat, tighten it up a bit til its in tune!

You dont necessarily true spoked rims to service them.
