89 FXST Brake Problems
I was getting some spongy rear brakes on my ride and I figured I would take a look at them this afternoon.
I took the lid off of the res and found not a drop of fluid.
So, I filled it up and started to bleed the system.
I found I was not getting any fluid past the master cylinder.
This system has a remote res, so I removed the hose at the master and I was getting fluid to there.
I then took off the banjo fitting and couldnt get any fluid to come out at all, no matter what I tried.
I did find a little dirt where the hose hooks to the res so I thought it may be plugged.
So I took everything apart cleaned it up to no avail.
The master will pressure up when depressed and pull a vacuum when released.
I didnt figure bleeding the brakes would be much different than a car so I proceeded to try and bleed them again with everything put back together and Im not getting any fluid past the seals in the master.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
