Inspection Sticker
Where did you put your inspection sticker?
I had mine mounted on a plate attached
to the belt guard. Yesterday I put the
chrome tool box on the left and now the
sticker is hard to see. I live in Texas and
not real sure of the law here on where it
should be but most bikes I see have them
there. Looks bad mounted on the plate,
at least to me it does...

RE: Inspection Sticker
Thanks for the reminder. I bought my bike last August in Ohio and never got it inspected here in PA Keep forgetting about it. Don't even know where to put the sticker but I heard someone say he kept his sticker in his wallet. I don't think that would be 'legal' or that service people would hand you a sticker that should be on the bike, but I'll try just that and will see what happens...as soon as I get the inspection done that is

RE: Inspection Sticker
Here in NY the sticker has to be on the left side. Forks work fine. The gray area is the sticker plate that can be bolted on to the rear passenger foot peg.
From what I researched ( checking the inspection rules and asking 2 different bike shops) is that they are not illegal. It says no where ( that I could find) that you can't have the sticker on one of these plates.
The cops on the other hand will tell you (usually at one of their 'safety' roadblocks that seem to only target bikes on a Sunday) that you cannot have a sticker on a plate that can be removed and put on another bike.
Again I found nothing in the regs for inspectors that says this. Only that it must be displayed on the left side of the bike.
Just to keep the ball busting down to a minimum I moved mine on a plate that is bolted to the front down tube of the frame. The sticker covers the bolts and that way it can not be removed without destroying the sticker.
Check you local laws for your state. It varies.

Here in New York the sticker has to be mounted on the left front fork 10 inches above the ground.
Whether you have Chrome Fork Tubes or not. I have mine mounted on one of those Stainless
Steel Plates mounted where my front Crash Bar attaches to the frame. Had to search High and Low
to find an Inspection Station that did not know the rules... Found one in Red Oaks Mills. Lucky Me.
These guys will put it anywhere you want it.
