Default 07 fxstc Stage 1 SERT Heat and backfire

I have a 07 fxstc Stage 1 SERT.
The HD dealer did all the work.
Now I am having problems with it backfiring occasionally from the exhaust opipe.
If I ride 20 miles on the interstate and get off it dies at the end of the exit ramp.
I removed the rear exhaust pipe to look at the gasket and the stem of the valve was white.

Opinions?

Bunk tune.

I wont even let the derailer tune my build. They typically are gonna have a kid fresh outta MMI on a dyno that isnt working right.

My bike goes to a local indy dynojet authorized tuner. All he does is tune. He dosent change tires, wash bikes, install chrome trinkets. He tunes fast bikes. Period.http://www.sr-tuning.us/index-4.html

Same issues here in my town. Lots of guys having the dealer install and tune with the SERT end up at the local hotshot Indy tuner shop complaining about heat, backfiring, flat spots, poor throttle response etc..etc...

My local Indy has to tune well and right the first time or he wont be around long.

The dealer? Not so much. Still lots of pipes and chrome trinkets to install!

Find out who tunes the bikes for your local Indy motor builders who build fast bikes. They are the ones who will point you towards the guy who can dyno tune your bike to make all its money. I'm sure that some folks have a great tuner at the local dealership....But I betcha more often than not they do not.

Yep... what Chazmanian said....

normally the dealer is just going to "tune" it so that it remains at the EPA mandated lean A/F mixture....
I was once told that a stage one tune does nothing to the A/F mixture... all it does is raise the rev limiter

Take it back and get it done right. Sounds like you are leaner than factory spec. Even stock the plugs and exhaust valve will be white so it's not a reliable indicator, but the way it runs and quits is.

Satge 1 ECM Flash increases the fuel 5% across the board.
With pipes and breather it just brings it back to normal.

Default Tuner

I have been sent a link to cyclerama http://www.cycle-rama.com
I will go to the dealer Sat and see what kind of response I get.
I will also check around for the opinion on cycle-rama.
