Update; it may all be in my head, but it does seem that the transmission feels easier to shift after changing to the Royal Purple Max-Gear oil. I really need to stop wearing tennis shoes when scooting around.

Evidentally "U" haven't looked here either, since the link you offered was previously submitted in the SECOND post to this thread!

Give the gut a break, he was just seeking info in an area foreign to him.

Good info to know about different fluids for Harleys. I strongly agree that transmission fluid should be used for trannies .I have been running Amsoil 20-50 in Engine & Primary & Amsoil tranni oil with no complaints, and this year I needed to buy transmission fluid so I am trying RED LINE Heavy Duty Shock Proof tranni fluid to see if shifting improves & if it sounds quitter ? I have read a lot about how good RED LINE Heavy Duty Shockproof Transmission fluid is so I'm going to try it this year.

Correction, I went back to what I used years ago, Mobil1 over the Amsoil. Its just to hard for me finding Amsoil around here and I am tired of the hassle. I also had a hard time finding it when out of town on a trip too. Mobil1 20/50 synthetic in the motor and primary with the Mobil1 75/90 gear lube in the tranny. That is all!!!
