home made mainshaft nut wrench. photo
After spending $8.00 at tractor supply for an 1-7/8 socket and cutting it in half and welding a piece of scrap 2inch black pipe in between. I took the proud piece of art over to the bike to bare down on the allmighty main shaft nut. Well I slipped the socket on and.........damn this nut allready seems loose. It was. Only thing keeping it on was the lock plate. Well I'll still need the socket to tighten it anyway. So it was'nt made in vane.

I'd rather have a 6 pointed one, allot of torque on that 12 point. Looks good though.

Thanks bud, I already have one, I was just making a point that the 12 point ones are weaker due to the ft. lbs. that are used to torque the nut down.

aaaahhhhh its only 120 ft-lbs. probably use it two three times in my life.
