Default Softail tank lift kit?

Hello friends. I've been contemplating getting the tank lift kit that jp cycles offers (http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/Produ...&results=10&No=), for my 04 standard softail, but I am concerned with the fuel guage. I realize that the fuel guage will probably not be as accurate with the lift, but I dont really use the fuel guage anyway. I usually just gas up when the low fuel light comes on, since there is plenty of time to fill up after it lights up. So, this brings me to my concern. How will the low fuel sensor be affected with a lift kit on the tank? I assume that the sensor is located on/with the floating fuel level sensor, so would it register as having more or less gas than in reality? Does anyone have any experience with this? Are there any other things that I should take into consideration before purchasing this?

-THANKS!-

I've noticed a fair amount of posts regarding the "tank lift"...does it really give a noticable effect? Does anyone have before & after pics?

Second the Jackyl kit. Use your odometer for the gas. That is what most of us do.

Yes it does make a noticeable difference. Here's a link to a previous thread where I posted before and after pics.

It looks great but is it worth giving up your fuel gauge?
