Default Sound System on Heritage Softail

Hey all,

I just purchased a Pyle sound system model number plmca60. Has anyone ever installed this on a softail? Any lessons learned from installing it? I want to make sure that I install this correctly as the manual for installation is pretty sparse. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff is it the system like the one below? Saw a guy at one of the places we ride that had one and it was very loud. I have to say that it sounded a bit weird in that it was only mid and high end sound, no base due in part to the
2" speakers I'm thinking. But hey... I dont know dick about those stereo systems. Good luck and repost with pics on how it comes out.

300 amps each?. Sounds hard to believe. Look nice and compact. I'd be interested in your review after the install.

All,

That is the model, and yes 300 amps each, I doubt it but I bought that one over the 200 amps each model. I will post pics after this weekend and give a review of the sound. It's got to be better than listening to the wind all the time.

Never thought about getting speakers for my Heritage, mostly because the ones I've seen on bikes are too big and freakish looking. These ones have my attention. Maybe we can put a subwoofer in our saddlebags

I just installed the system and am amazed how it sounds, yes no base but better than nothing. The installation instructions sucked but I figured it out and did it without booze. I decided to do it sober . Instead of connecting it to the wiring harnes I tapped into the switch as an accessory and I can use it while riding and if the bike is off, switching the ignition switch to accessory. The hardest part of this installation was deciding where to put the speakers and whether to splice or connect to the switch. I did not connect the usb charging cable as I don't think I will need it and I did not mount the ipod mount as I am putting it in the pouch below the dash. I really wanted to maintain the stock heritage that I have. I will post pictures tomorrow after puttng it all back together.

don't listen to radio in car, or house, wifes MS and music don't go together, so definitely don't want one on bike..

Too bad you couldn't find a way to hook up a subwoofer somehow.
