Default 1993 Fatboy 1340 Evo performance build

Im looking at trying to get at least 110 to 130HP to the rear wheel on my fatboy. I can buy a 124 S&S Evo engine wich has 130HP to the rear wheel or i can build the engine. The 124 Evo engine cost about $10k. Thats not includeing exhaust and other upgraded parts to handle the power. Is it going to be cheaper to just build the engine i have? How much am i looking at spending to do this?

Yowsa!

Meaning you yourself or?? Much cheaper if you are a motor guy. Then again if youre a motor guy you already know that. Installing a set of gear drive cams in my Twinkie is 6-8 hours of labor. So $600 bucks worth of parts would cost me $600 to get installed.

The 124 Evo engine cost about $10k.
Thats alot of coin!

Yet more coinage.

Lil' cheaper to build on whatcha got. Engine numbers will match yer' bike and you will have the satisfaction and joy of knowing your old Evo now breathes.....Fire!

Consider shooting for say..... This streetable reliable 95HP build as outlined here: http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/hdbuildstage3_95.htm

I like power as well as you. I have maybe 2500 spent on motor work. To me thats 2000 too much and I'm looking at dropping another $1500....I hate it. Its an addiction.

Maybe just buy one of these with the 10 grand and leave your Evo fatty as your cruiser I wanna relax bike?

Thanks guys. I am an engine guy, and i can do most of the work my self. I just wanted to see which was going to be more cost efficiant in the long run.

Randy at Hyper-Performance sells some pretty mean EVO hot-rod kits. He is on here as King of Cubes. Defiitely cheaper than an entire engine and his stuff is first-rate.
