Default swingarm swap over - Twin Cam swingarm on a Evo softail??

I have rear somewhere that some guys have bolted on a later model swingarm to their Evo softails in order to gain clearance for a wider tire?

Is this an easy, straight swap? How much extra clearance is gained?

Thanks.

I would say no its not a direct fit. The rear shocks on a pre '00 are different, which means they will mount different to the swing arms, the pivot shaft may be a completely different size. Have you thought about just getting a wide tire kit for your year make and model?
