I'm looking to get new wheels in the future and I'm debating over staying with the 17 or going to an 18. The catch is that the 18 is 5.5" wide instead of 6" like the stock 17. Are the 18" 200mm tires the same width/height as the stock dunlops? I'm asking because my riding buddy changed his rear 150 to another brand and it was visibly thinner, even though it's a 150.
Also, with the wheel being narrower, will this cause the tire to be thinner or taller?
I went from a 17" stock wheel to a 18x5.5 rear wheel and 200mm tire on my 07 deuce.
Had to change to narrow belt/pulley set up off an 06 up fxst/nt so the wheel would fit.
