Need HELP with stripped bolt!
I just got my Mustang solo seat for my NT, I got one bolt off the right side where the seat attaches to no problem. Then the left side.......(it is the 1st bolt, the closest to the gas tank, pretty much right underneath the gas tank. It is a allen head bolt.) it is stripped and I don't have a clue how to get it off. So now I can't install my solo and go for a ride! Any help in getting this damn bolt off would be great!
I appreciate it.
Thanks alot.

RE: Need HELP with stripped bolt!
An EZ out is a tool that will "bite" into the hardware when you try to loosen it. You have to drill into the head of the bolt, tap the ez out into it with a hammer. The ez out is held by a standard socket. As you try to loosen the bolt, the ez out will bite it and allow you to remove the hardware.

Before you go cutting, this is a trick I use on allen head bolts.
Get a metric allen that is a little bigger than the one your using
and tap it in, use the allen wrench type that will fit a 3/8 drive ratchet.
Tap the allen socket into the bolt, put your ratchet in and screw
it out. Try this first, if you cut a slot in the screw head and
it strips out your in trouble, besides taping on the allen bolt will
help break it loose.

RE: Need HELP with stripped bolt!
If the bolt is bound up enough that it stripped the allen head, then cutting a slot for a screw driver will be an iffy proposition. You can try an easy out after everything else fails, so do it last. If you want to cut a slot got to harbor freight or northern tool and buy an impact driver. Carefully cut a slot in the bolt head that is wide enough (and make sure that it is about 1/2 the bolt head thickness deep, that will fit the flat head driver in the impact driver kit. If you don't know how to use one of these, get some help. The impact driver will help in not stipping out the slot that you just cut in. It has a ratchet setting that determines which way the impact will turn the bolt. You need to make sure that you are turning the bolt the right way before you go banging on it.
