Has anyone tried on of those finned slip on oil coolers? I see them for sale on eBay. They are made of alluminum, with cooling fins, and slip over the oil filter. Just curious. thanks.

I have one on my Heritage Springer. It seems to cool down the oil by around 15 degrees or so. On the average my temps at the oil tank where my guage is are around 200 or less on a 90 degree day with traffic.
I had it on when my wife and I went to Death Valley last year. Fully loaded bike and 100+ weather for 4 days and the bike oil temp never got over 215 degrees.
We run to Phoenix alot even during the summer and the temps stay around 220. That's running in temps of 105+ at 75-80 mph for 6 hours at a time.
For the price it seems to be worth it but once I upgrade my motor to 95 inches I'll bite the bullet and buy a complete oil cooler kit. For the stock motor it's fine but I want a bit more assurance with the upgraded motor.
