Default Miles Per Year

Just courious how many miles do you ride in the average riding season? Found a great deal on an 07 Heritage in December that had 15K on it. I'm thinkng that 5K a year is not that high.

Loaded question...not everyone can ride all the time....Do what you can, when you can.

Maybe the owner of your 15K bike had multiple bikes and rides 45K a year...

Me personally.. I try to do 8-10K.. But I'm in the Northeast and weather and work constantly gt in the way.

That's not bad. I put 12K on my '02 RKC last year and didn't buy it until early April. Mine had 22K when I bought it.

For what it's worth, I have an 07 that I bought new and have a little over 22k miles on it.

Yeah, really a loaded question. I did about 5K last year FL before it blew. Put on about 7K on the FX. I can't go as far on the FX. I also picked up a riding buddy last year that likes to ride all day but barely hits 55, so I think if it were me with my old bros that 7K woulda been around 10K or higher. Milage wise I think you're cool on the year. I think 5K a year is probably about average, unless your a kookoo iron *** like most that are on this site.

Got my 09 in Apr last year and have a little over 5k on it. But, in ND you only have 4 months of riding weather and half of that was rain, sleet, rain, etc. My riding partner bought an 02 from this area with 13k on it. I'd call it low miles.

7000 in the two years I've owned my '08. I ride almost every day in the summer and have been on the bike at least once a week during the winter months. I work 10 minutes from my house though, so I don't get many miles.

I average 9k a year. The mileage on the bike is within normal use. I wouldn't say it is low miles, but not high either. Let us know what you decide. Nevermind.... Is that a pic of it in your sig?

i average about 12 thousand a year. i only put a little over 1000 on it in december and half of january, so i have to ride more in the summer to make up for the winter time. but i ride if the roads are clear. even if the temps are in the 30's

so 5 grand a year is low. unless as someone else said, if that person has multiple bikes. otherwise they probably just can afford a harley and own for that reason.
