I put them on my x bones and thought they were a little to loud. I put the quiet baffles in them, performance went way up and the sound is now perfect.

I've got 'em on my 2009 train. I don't find them too loud. They can bark if you throttle 'em but I can idle through my neighborhood coming home in the wee hours and nobody complains... to my face, anyway. I think they sound good. I got them because I was on a budget and have been pleased with them. I did not notice any torque drop off with the swith from the stockers but I did put an air cleaner on too. Not sure if that made up the difference or not.

I have them too, with BCT baffles and yes they are loud. I will take looks over performance as I have seen a '09 train with a built 103" and they got 120 HP out of it. I know they could have got more with a good 2-1 pipe but I just don't like the looks or sound of the ones I've seen around here. I my get flamed for saying that but so be it JMO

I just bought a used (slightly) Night Train and it has the short shots on it with no baffles. They don't seem all that loud to me, just kind of raspy. They sent me a box of parts that came off the bike which includes some baffles and I am considering putting them back in.

I like the V&H short shots. I have on the '08 FXSTC. Look great and sound great too.
My pic is below with short shots on. I'll have to post vid later.

Request to those that have removed their baffles on the short shots.
Can you post a vid. I still have the baffles in mine. Not sure if removing them is a thing to do. Stupid question Can the baffles be re-installed? Same ones that have been removed?

I think one of the reasons I really like the short shots is they don't obstruct the view of the swingarm.
