I'm getting a Jagg 10-row put on my 90 custom softail 97 in. evo bigbore when it's back together, depending on how it cools I might put a 6-row on my (wife's) 93 fatboy 80 in., too much heat ain't good, I've got pistons to prove it, lol

Jeg's or the HD one are your best bets as they seem to work the best.
I have the HD one on my Custom and it works well.
I'm not sure if the Jeg's comes with one or not, but the HD version comes in a kit that includes a thermostatic control to bypasses the cooler if the oil temps are below 180 degree's.
If I have a beef with it its the way the chrome cover is held on with silicone sealant instead of bolts and is the main reason I haven't put it on yet.
I want a better way to attach it and may have to resort to making something on my own.
If I do make my own I want to fit it with a pair of small fans for low speed cruising on hot summer days.

I got the HD one here in the sub tropics ... seems to do the job.
I had the chrome cover powder coated in black. Installation was done by dealer before I picked up the bike so can not tell difference in temperature between running with the oil cooler or not ...

The cover is still held on by the silicone adhesive. I wouldn't worry too much about that, these modern day adhesives make powerful bonds.

I went with the HD unit on my NT because I got a good deal on it and I like the fact that it hides right between the downtubes. Don't hardly see it at all. I left the chrome cover off on purpose.

I have the HD oil cooler on my softail and am convinced in it's worth. My cover is held on with the adhesive and it's worked well for over three years.

Question Crash Bars

Will an oil cooler still fit with crash bars, or as the dealer refers to them "Engine Guards", cause we don't crash..right..

My oil cooler kit didn't come with adhesive. What should I use?

Thanks

From the instructions:

Proper installation of this kit requires the use of Harley-
Davidson High Performance Sealant (99650-02) which is
available at a Harley-Davidson dealer.

My guess is that any sealant that is temperature resistant should do. They must have something suitable at DIY stores or Car shops.

I called HD and asked about the part # for the adhesive. They said forget about it and just use the red high heat silicone. Done deal, it's on for keeps. And yes, it fits with crash bars fine. I have an '07 Heritage and use the Lindby Multi-bar, no problem.
