My Slim Build...With Cams/Dyno!
So I know there are much much more exotic builds that have been done on here, but I finally got mine to a point to show what's been done to give others ideas and not show off another stock Slim. So here she is (sorry for the smaller pics)....
Roland Sands Vintage Moto Bars
Mustang Seat
DeadCreek Cycles Lowering Kit 1 1/2"
SE Spark Plug Wires
SE 204 Cams
SE Adjustable Push Rods/Tubes
Bassani Pro Street Pipes
H-D Heavy Breather w/Amsoil Air Filter
TTS Tuner
Custom map by Jason @ C&S Speed Shop in East St Louis
'62 FLH Tank Badges
Next project is 17x4.5" Dyna wheel w/ 160/70 tyre and some type of black brake rotors, undecided grips, and brake levers. Also considering removing the boards for Breakout forward controls.
You guys ask away if you like about the cam swap and all that. I did all the work myself and then trailered it to C&S for the custom map on the dyno. Heres just a few random personal thoughts about working on your own bike and dyno tunes....
-Cam swap is a piece of cake job. Can be done with all basic hand tools.
-DO NOT buy that expensive inner cam bearing puller. AutoZone has a blind hole bearing puller they rent for free that works like a champ!
-Drain the oil tank. I didn't, and when you pull the cam plate out, it breaks that o-ring seal and I dumped the entire oil tank on the ground. Lesson learned.
-Get a custom map made for your tuner. After spending countless waisted hours over in the tuner section reading horror stories about guys chasing this tune and chasing that issue, the only thing I learned was to get it done right and ride an awesome running bike. Extremely well worth the cost.

This made me laugh. When I did my motor, I drained the oil of course, but when I pulled the cam plate off, oil was still just draining out.. I could only imagine your "oh ****" reaction

It was funny too, cause I was like "I know a bit of oil is gonna run out from the pump and valleys and such, but this is ridiculous"! by the time I realized where it was coming from, it was too late. Oh well. If that's the worst thing that happens, I'm A-OK with that.
