oh you want to get rid of the fuel gauge entirely? Really it's just a wire that goes through the gas tank and plugs in underneath.. you could just cut the wire shorter and cap it (in case you decide to hook it up later), or leave it long and tuck it away under the tank

love the look of that, how well does it work. with the stock cap i will fill up and 40 miles later it says i have a half a tank

Its pretty accurate, however even though it seems to be ok I still monitor my fuel by mileage.

i just watched an video on youtube of two guys installing it, they said the hardest part was removing the wire pins from the connector plug

Your issue could also be the sending unit in the tank. Not that common though.
Pulling apart the connectors is easy once you figure it out. There are a few videos on youtube that were made by members here.

Mid 30's but still have not put the bikes up for winter. If the roads are dry I'll ride. Even when temps are in the low teens, just not a long ride.

Low 70's... a little rain today though so I didn't ride in to work.
