Default No Low Beam Issue

1998 Heritage Softail. I was riding home one day and decided to warn incoming traffic of a hidden police officer by flicking my hi/lo beams. Come next day, turned on my baby for my morning commute and noticed that the low beam was not working. Rode with the high beam for a few miles and at a stop, I tested my low beam and VIOLA, it was on! I replaced the headlamp (big *** Sylvania) to find out that the symptom still remains. I have noticed that if I run the bike for a while then try the low beam, it works. My question, did my vigorous switching between hi/lo beam somehow screw my switch? Thx for any input.

Hey, Picked up a '95FLSTN in January and have been having the same problem. Works 99 percent of the time, but occasionally will not light. Checked bulb and circuits and finally ended up at the switch. I can't get a consistent open in the circuit, but if I tap the switch just right it will drop low beam, sometimes. My conclusion is the switch is sticking or has a dirty contact. Still looking for the best {easiest}solution. Try bumping the switch to isolate.

try dis-assembling the switch/rocker assembly and clean and use some dioelectric grease at the contact points. takes care of vibration issues and moisture issues. Ive done that with all my rocker switches because I ride in the rain all winter and have to deal with moisture and corousion.
