Saw the same article but have yet to try. May do with when I change fluid next couple weeks. Also I used the old seal as a cushion between new seal and PVC have a rubber mallet handy too.

you cant on these forks. The brass bushings on the fork legs make it not possible. you would most certainly destroy the seal trying that, or atleast end up with a leak
