I'm trying to buy a fork seal installer tool but I need to know what size I need. It is for a 2008 Fat Boy? Can any one help? I didn't want to go with the PVC method. Thanks

 

lol i got no help for ya than... theres some listed on ebay... Pretty sure you have 41mm... PVC works great!

 

+1. a PVC coupler with the flange dremeled out works perfect on a FL tube.

+5 on the PVC pipe. What I did was to take the OLD forkseal and put it upside down on top of the new seal, and use the pvc pipe to drive the old seal into the new seal, into the fork tube. Why waste $80 bucks on a tool when $1.00 worth of home depot does the EXACT same thing?

 

That's a good idea using the old seal like that.

 

I read in a magazine article that you can install the fork seal in the lower leg and then carefully slide it onto the upper leg while still in the triple trees. I have never done this but was considering trying this on my next chrome lowers(I am about 1 yr away from this). Has anyone here tried this method?
