I recently added a signature series seat to my 2010 Heritage Softail Classic but can't figure out how to remove the rider backrest, although it is supposed to be removable. Does anyone know how to remove it.
I just sold one of those and took me some time to figurge that out too. There is tabs on each side in front of the arm way down in the seat. Press both sides (again down in seat where it attaches) and pull up. It is a little tricky the first time.
I have been thinking of putting this same seat on my 2006 Heritage.Could you tell me what you think of it ,and does it change your position etc.
Thanks

i did figure out how to get the backrest off. there is a small tab on the post that needs to be pressed in to release the backrest. I love the seat by the way. Just returned from an 8-day 2400 mile trip to nova scotia (from central NY state), and could not have done it as comfortably without it. good luck.
I have this seat on my 06 Heritage and it is very comfortable but moves you forward some. It is also a little narrower on the nose. It is a deep bucket and provides great back support.
push the tabs, one on each side, then rock them the whole black plastic piece, forward.. then lift the rear sissy bar up and pull it off of the front two bolts. there slots in the bar....
