Default ? 2010 Soft Tail Custom

Been on board for about a month. Just now posting. Always rode metric bikes. Now looking at my first Harley. I have ridden several new models. I think that I like the Soft Tail Custom the best. my wife likes it also. We ride two up most of the time. We would add the sundowner seat, backrest and detachable windshield. What would be the pros and cons of this bike. We ride mostly back roads with some 300- 400 mile trips thrown in. Please give opinions both good and bad. Thanks

it is a great bike. I don't hear anyone saying bad things about any model really, other then one fits better than another. But as you have ridden several models I guess you like the fit of the custom.

The downside is the bike costs money!

Other than that, it's a great bike. Buy it, ride the hell out of it. Just whatever you buy, make sure it's the bike you truly want. Demo ride, rent, borrow, etc. Once you sign that paperwork, you'd better love it!

I heard the same thing. Better find a new one now if you want it.

I love mine but I had to put on a Mustang touring seat to make the wife happy.

really no bad characteristics. plenty of add-ons for your style of riding. add a clip-on windshield, bags and go places. if you plan on touring the states most of the time then a touring model will give both of you a better ride for 400+ miles a day. i love mine but i ride solo most of the time.

Default Softail Custom

I've had my Custom for almost 2 years now and their are no downsides to this model. The factory seat is my wifes favorite for two up, and probably mine for long trips. The ride is really good on this model and the handling is very good too. I rented them all before deciding on this model. There are many, many accessories to make it your own if you desire. Two years later and I'm extremely happy with it.

I love my Heritage. Compared to my Wide Glide, I can't believe how well balanced the FLSTC is. If your planning on a lot of long distance, I would ride a Road King just to compare though. JMHO.
