Ok so went and got new front tire mounted got home to put wheel back on Bike and the treads backwards so I'm thinkin WTF I go to look and directional arrows are right and check sidewall to see its a D408 and not a D407 so I call and they say its the updated tire. Why the hell'd they reverse the tread on these tires?? Anyone got any info on this?? Or did HD Dealer screw somethin up.

 

Its that way now on all of the 2010's. I think they were having issues with cupping with them mounted the other way but they will never admit that.

 

I purchased a new front and rear tires for my 07FXST and put the front tire on right away since it needed to be changed. right away i noticed the same thing, even called the indy that installed it. It was a D408 and the tread pattern is going what seems to be the wrong way, but now that i have put about 6,000 miles on it, i do notice that it does wear better than the D407F. No problems with it so far, i guess thats the way the wheel rolls...
