Default Denim Touch Up

Has anyone tried to touch up a black denim paint job. I have a few small scratches that bug the sh*t out of me. I was wondering if the spray touch up paint from Harley is easy to use?

Its gonna stand out like a sore thumb. Denim style paint is HARD to keep up and once its worn down, there is NO buffing it out. The best way to keep a great look from front to back to respray the whole thing. Not sure on HD touch up paint itself but the finish i know for sure you will notice where you touched it up hence leaving spots that will irritate you.

Default not hard

Not hard, but its the clear denim spray that really makes the difference on the denim's. Probably really nothing more than a satin clear but makes all the difference on denim touch ups.

I am interested to see the outcome of this thread. I have a few spots on my tank where the sundowner rubbed it shiny in a few spots. From what I have seen with the paint and how it ages it would appear difficult to match IMO.

I build rat rods on the side and all we use is hot rodz flats to paint our rods. The thing is, once you get a scratch, your better off leaving it alone. A chip isnt as bad and is a easy fix but if you try touching up a scratch it will stand out more than if you would of just left it alone. Where are your scratches? Is there anyway you can come up with something to disguise them? Do you have any pics?

The scratches are on the side of the rear fender. They are very light and I thought I could touch them up without a problem. Someone should invent a dry touch up paint for denim, sort of like a shoe polish............Hey wait a minute.................

Feather it in real good using 1000 grit and use the ColorRite paint. I repainted my bike using their paint out of a gun and it's good stuff. I have a can that I use for touch up and you can't tell where I have used it. You will be better off if you spray the whole fender though. That goes for any touch up jobs.

i use the harley touch up bottle. denim black then blend it with the clearcoat that comes with the touch up paint, two mini bottles of paint from harley for $10 in one package, you cannot buy denim touch up by itself
