Default front end wobbles on Deluxe?

Have a just bought a 2008 Deluxe and the front end wobbles when you let go of the handle bars , but here's the weird thing it only does it at around the 40mph range, if your going slow around 20-30 mph no problem or faster 50 mph and above. It feels perfect when your hands are on bars no shake or anything , I've had bike up to around 90 mph and it rides smooth as glass. It has Metzeler tires and I am thinking that might be where the problem may be, what say you??? Thanks in advance!

I'd say it's the neck bearings. Tighten them up a quarter turn and see what happens. I just had this exact issue on my Lo and HD did the work for free. They missed it during the 1000 mile service.

Another Deluxe rider had a similar complaint a month back. Wobble at around 40 mph as I recall. Turned out the steering head needed adjustment. Maybe you can find the post. It was from TwiggyAz.

If the fall away/neck bearing doesn't do it, check your rear spokes

while trouble shooting for high speed wobble on a 97 fxst (above 65 mph) i substituted with used oe hd 21 " spoker, it produced same wobble as "roadkingfatboy" described. did a static balance & it was off by 1 oz. low speed wobble gone, now just have to find the original high speed wobble.

They tightened mine up to and it still wobbles a bit! Even replaced the neck bearings and front wheel and tire!
