Default Need help replacing 06 fatboy battery

I'm embarrassed I accidentally left my lights on n now the battery is dead. I have a battery tender hooked up to it. I'm crossing my fingers. But if it doesn't work I need help taking the battery out. Other than removing the seat n bolts what else do I need to remove the battery? Thank

The only other thing you need to do is disconnect the terminals. The batter lifts right out. It's an easy switch, trust me. I think it's a 7/16" if memory serves....

It may seem like it doesnt want to come out cause of the weight and not being a lot of area to grab the battery by but thats it. Seat and terminals.

And may I suggest while your waiting for your bike to charge how about shopping for a Factory Service Manual. It comes in handy sometimes.

a battery tender isn't designed to bring a drained battery back form the dead.
use a good 2 volt battery charger & you can probably save it. disconnect terminals before charging.

as already mentioned, seat off, terminals off, pull battery straight up & out.

Get a charger from the auto parts store for about $20 and charge it up. It should come back up to close to full charge as long as it is still good.

As far as removing it, get a 10mm wrench and undo the screws. Pull it out. Done!

I use a 12V charger. It takes about an hour or two to be at full charge. But whatever works. Good luck. Let us know what happens when you put it back in.
