Default LeNale cooling fan.

I'd like to know if installing this type of fan will cool the engine more effectively.
Is this accessory a better alternative than an oil cooler?
I ride an FLSTC with many stops-'n-gos and where traffic jam is part of reality in the city.
Thanks.

I have this on my FLHTCU http://www.budsbikerparts.net/
Check it out.
As far as the fan,... I hear you'll get that air hot on the other leg.

The ideal solution is a fan on the oil cooler. I met an engineer who had rigged one up on his FXST but I don't know if anyone sells a solution like that.

I have one on my 01 FLHTCUI and have been stuck in constuction stop and go. So far the ones riding with me have had to stop and let there's cool while my temps (by the dash mounted gauge) have never been over 280. I switch it on as soon as i see traffic stopped and have never had a problem with heat on the leg as it blows between cylinders.

the ultracool oil cooler has a fan built in. keeps bike cool at all speeds...thermostatically controlled. if heat is that much of a problem, why not do an engine fan and an oil cooler?

Guys,
Many thanks for all your feedback.
I hope I'll get a cooler ride now.
Cheers!

Default I vote yes on the Lenale cooling fan

I have the Lenale cooling fan on my 2010 Heritage Classic and it really helps in stopped or slow traffic. I don't use the fan mounted switch though. I bought the Harley handlebar switch so it is more convenient, but for some reason it is very difficult to find the right side handlebar switch cover through Harley. I live in Pa. and had to order one through a California dealer and they said it was the last one they had. It still is no problem getting them for the left side , but it is more difficult to reach the switch while holding in the clutch lever.

I've heard nothing but horor stories about those Lenale fans. They work for a while, but don't last too long, especially when they've gotten wet.

The only horror stories i've heard are from the look-a-likes sold on fleabay. I've had mine installed 2 years ago and it gets washed once a week year round and my fan has never failed in the 30,000 mile i've ridden since install. Purchased mine from Eastern Performance, an authorized dealer for LeNale.
